Two US soldiers from Louisiana were involved in a fiery car crash on Tuesday that has left three injured in the Texas town of Burkeville.

Burkeville Fire Chief Charles Duckworth said that two Fort Polk soldiers were heading east in a sedan when they suddenly crossed the centerline, colliding with a woman from Louisiana.

According to KFDM, it is unknown if weather played a factor, as the roads were slick with rain that had been falling for part of the day.

While all three were out of their vehicles by the time the fire crew arrived, woman and one of the soldiers had head injuries and broken bones, while the second soldier had non-life threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation.
