Firefighters in Salem revived two inmates overdosing in the back of a sheriff’s van on Tuesday, WCVB reports.
Salem Fire Capt. Richard Thomas told the television station on Tuesday the driver pulled the van in front of the fire station and banged on the door asking for help.
Two men in the back of the van had passed out in the back of the van after taking opioids. Firefighters administered Narcan, an overdose antidote, to rescue the men, according to WCVB.
One man needed two doses of Narcan to one of the men and he eventually woke up. Both men were taken to the hospital, police told WCVB.
