Two people initially reported to be on board a cargo air craft that crashed just east of the Toledo Express Airport early Wednesday have not been located, according to a spokesman for the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authoirty.

The cargo aircraft was approaching the Toledo Express Airport at approximately 2:37 a.m. Wednesday when it went down near an auto business near Garden and Eber roads in Monclova, according to Kayla Lewandowski, a spokesman for the port authority.

Ms. Lewandowski told The Blade Wednesday morning that there were initial reports of two people on board the cargo aircraft, but there have been no reports of them being found.

Additionally, she said she cannot confirm where the cargo plane was flying from.

“We’re trying to figure that out as well,” she said.

The crash impacted multiple unoccupied vehicles at the auto business, resulting in a significant fire. Multiple agencies responded to the scene.

There is now a secondary search of the area underway as the plane wreckage has scattered at the business.

The FAA and NTSB have been contacted regarding this incident.
