A Tennessee firefighter in Lawrenceburg was killed last night while battling a house fire.
Lawrenceburg Fire Engineer Jason Dickey -an 11-year veteran of the fire department- lost his life on Monday, leaving behind a wife, three children and one child on the way.
“We lost a hero, we lost a man who saved several lives in his 11-year career,” said Lawrenceburg Fire Chief Jay Moore.
Several other firefighters were injured in the house fire after a wall inside the home collapsed, leaving one in intensive care unit.
According to WSMV, Dozens of agencies from across Middle Tennessee have responded to Lawrenceburg over the past 24 hours to help fight the fire or to show their support, including a Nashville Fire engine being used to escort Dickey’s body back to Lawrence County.
