Striking fire crews back at work

The Fire Brigades Union (FBU) are to enter into talks with the West Midlands Fire Authority on Monday to try to avert further strike action. Firefighters returned to work on Monday after a third three-hour strike in the space of a week.

The walkout is part of a dispute over pay and conditions. More strikes are planned for Wednesday and Saturday.

An FBU spokesman told BBC WM that “further developments might lead to Wednesday’s strike being called off.”
