Five people were killed after a twin-engine aircraft crashed into a California house on Sunday afternoon, killing the pilot and four occupants.

The crash took place in the town of Yorba Linda and totaled five fatalities, as well as two injuries.

The aircraft, a Cessna 414A, had been airborne for less than ten minutes, and scattered debris over four blocks when it crashed.

Residents described the crash as being akin to a bomb going off, sending people running for cover.

According to AOL, fire crews worked to extinguish the house and plane fire, which burned with great ferocity.
