A pilot is lucky to be alive after he crashed his experimental aircraft into some power lines in Mississippi on Wednesday.

According to the Clarion-Ledger, the man says he was flying his aircraft toward a landing strip when the engine failed.

On the way down, the aircraft hit some power lines which caused sparks to fly.

The pilot was able to unbuckle himself and run to safety after the impact.

Just seconds later, the ‘plane’ burst into flames and began to burn.
