On The Job – Keene Fire / Rescue

The Keene VFD responded to a reported structure fire.Their fire chief, who lives three miles SE of town, instructed the dispatcher to call for mutual aid from the Cleburne Fire Department and Alvarado Fire Department. The fire chief stated he could see heavy smoke from three miles away. The fire had started in the carport area behind the house and rapidly spread into the attic. The Keene VFD mounted an interior attack and was assisted by the arrival of the Cleburne Fire Department. Cleburne has three fire stations and their fire chief just happened to be at Station One. He borrowed the engineers gear and lead the Cleburne Fire Department to assist in the interior attack. The Keene Fire Chief was on his way to work at the Johnson County Sheriffs Department. He manned a 2 1/2 inch hose line with assistance of a Keene Police Officers until the arrival of the Alvarado Fire Department.
