A massive apartment fire that broke out in Montgomery County Wednesday night injured 11 people.

Those 11 people hurt in the inferno at the Kingwood Apartments in Upper Merion Township include five residents, five police officers and one paramedic, Action News 6 ABC is reporting.

According to reports, the blaze broke out around 10:20 p.m. First responders rushed into the burning building to rescue the people inside. It was almost impossible for residents to get out through the hallways, filled with black smoke, forcing some to jump from their balconies.

Despite the conditions, all residents made it out of the building, according to reports.

The injured people all suffered smoke inhalation, and none of the injuries are considered to be life threatening, reports indicate.

NBC 10 reports firefighters had the blaze under control by midnight.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
