Two men at the Golden Gardens Fire Department were arrested but not charged after police found marijuana stored there. Agents with the special police detail known as Working Against Violent Elements were conducting a narcotics investigation in the 400 block of Adams Street in Brooklyn. Joe Beliveau, commander of the Metropolitan Enforcement Group of Southern Illinois, said police searched a residence and found one rifle, more than five pounds of marijuana and more than 500 pills that police suspect were ecstasy.
During that search, police learned that marijuana was being stored at the Golden Gardens Fire Department. Inside of the firehouse, police found “between 30 and 50 grams of marijuana in a filing cabinet inside of the fire house, Beliveau said.
Two men were arrested, questioned and released pending further investigation
Police are still looking for the resident of the house on Adams Street.
