House fire in Tottenham

Four fire engines and around twenty firefighters tackled a blaze in a house on White Hart Lane, Tottenham in the early hours of this morning. Most of the ground floor and a quarter of the first floor was damaged by fire. The fire was extinguished by hose reels and firefighters wearing breathing apparatus.

One man who was in the first floor bedroom was rescued by fire crews via the internal staircase. He was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.

The brigade was called at 0059 and the fire was under control by 0156. Firefighters from Tottenham and Edmonton fire stations attended. The fire is under investigation by police and the London Fire Brigade.
