A Florida Naval base firefighter was arrested for driving while under the influence after he attempted to get past gate security and report for work.
According to the Miami Herald, James Robert House III had a blood-alcohol level of .25 when he tried to enter the base at 7 a.m. Saturday morning.
House told the sentry at the security gate that he was reporting for work.
The security guard says House was slurring his words and even drank from a Corona bottle in front of him.
House has released from jail the next day after he sobered up.
The 17-year firefighting veteran is facing misdemeanor charges.
