Florida firefighter says he’s an arson victim after his boat went up in flames

SHARE

A Port St. Lucie firefighter says he was away at work when his wife called saying their boat was engulfed in flames.

The fire destroyed the boat’s engine and much of the interior, and now Drew Craig believes someone purposedly started the fire.

According to WPTV, Craig has been telling neighbors to slow down while driving through the neighborhood. He’s been doing this to try to protect his, and others, children.

Craig says he did find traces of accelerant around the boat, and a neighbor’s surveillance camera shows a car pull up to the house, stop and park, and then made a u-turn shortly after the fire started.

Police are now working on identifying a suspect.
