An 18-year-old whose car skidded off an icy Iowa road and into a river Tuesday was rescued after asking Siri to call 911.

Gael Salcedo lost track of his cell phone after his Jeep careened into the Winnebago River near Charles City, and he used to Apple’s voice assistant to summon help, KIMT reported.

“I just didn’t know what to do. I was just thinking in my head ‘I think I’m going to die,'” Salcedo told KIMT. “I lost my phone and since I couldn’t find it, I was like ‘Hey Siri, call 911.’ And once Siri called, that’s when I found my phone finally.”

Firefighters arrived shortly after and rescued Salcedo, who was taken to a Mason City hospital for three hours and then released, according to the report.
