Firefighters rescue boy after he gets stuck in a pool filter

San Diego firefighters had to rescue a three-year-old boy after he became stuck inside an eight-inch pool filter near an in-ground spa at an apartment complex.

Fire-Rescue got the call around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to 10 News, the boy was screaming and crying for most of the rescue, though he eventually calmed down.

Firefighters used a hammer to chip away the stone around the filter and then broke the plastic to free the boy.

He was removed unharmed.

Crews were confused on how the boy became stuck in the first place.
