Yet another firefighter is going to run a marathon event in bunker gear, this time to raise awareness for premature births.

Lafayette Fire Department firefighter Jules Bruchez is running in honor of his friends’ son, Drew, who was born at 24 weeks old.

The Louisiana native is hoping to raise awareness and funds for the young boy, as there will be considerable therapies in order to get Drew into tip-top shape.

“I hope Drew takes away that he can see that there is good in this world, we have a very bad habit of always focusing on the negatives,” he said. “There’s a lot of good out there, and if you just look deep down inside your heart, you’d be surprised at how much good you have inside of you. And hopefully it will inspire him to help others and it will continue to pass itself down.”

According to KATC, the 5k run took place on Saturday.
