Police have detained a man for questioning as they figure out how a two-alarm fire in Hermosa Beach, California was started Thursday morning.

According to the L.A. Times, the fire started inside an empty home that was under construction. That fire grew into a two-alarm blaze that required multiple crews to be called in.

The fire quickly jumped to nearby homes making containment a major issue for the firefighters. In all, four homes were damaged.

One firefighter did suffer minor injuries putting out the fire, which took just over an hour to quell.

Investigators have not ruled the blaze as arson, but have detained a man for questioning as they search for answers.
