What appears to be a coyote found stuck in the waters near PortMiami was rescued early Tuesday, according to Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.
The call came in at 1015 N. America Way shortly before 7 a.m., according to the agency.
The animal was found stuck between a dock wall and a large buoy, according to WSVN. Once fire-rescue was able to release it, the animal began to swim away.
Video taken by the news station shows a fire boat crew following the animal, attempting to tie a rope around it. The coyote is later pulled on board.
It’s unknown how the animal ended up in the water or what condition it’s now in.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue is working with Florida Fish and Wildlife to relocate it.
