A bride in Indiana donned her wedding dress on her wedding day- but she could only go to the gravesite of her beloved firefighter.
Jessica Padgett knelt before the grave of Montgomery Firefighter Kendall Murphy on their planned wedding day of September 29, a few months shy of a year after he was killed by a fellow firefighter while working an accident scene.
Kendall was struck by Colby Blake, a fellow MFD firefighter who attempted to rush to the scene while under the influence- with a blood alcohol content over double the legal limit.
To honor her would-be husband’s memory and show that she could never forget him, she took wedding photos alongside family members, wearing her white dress.
‘She made broken look beautiful and strong look invincible. She walked with the Universe on her shoulders and made it look like a pair of wings,’ the photographer wrote in the caption of a photo, obtained by the Daily Mail.
Murphy was a beloved member of the community who enjoyed being a useful servant. He proposed to Padgett in 2016. He was 27 when he perished.
