The body of a missing LA County Fire Captain has been identified after it was discovered in a California canyon over the weekend.

43-year-old Wayne Stewart Habell’s corpse was discovered not far from his SUV in Santa Barbara County on Saturday evening, and was believed to have been going to the gym when he met his demise.

Transported to the coroner’s office, Habell’s death is currently under investigation and foul play is not being ruled out at this time.

During the search, air support was used in order to find Habell.

According to ABC7, the cause of death is unknown.
