Arsonist arrested after punching firefighter while trying to flee

An arsonist in Virginia has been detained after authorities say he set fire to a building and punched a firefighter during his escape attempt.

Richmond fire crews responded to a fire on Hull Street Saturday night, only to 29-year-old Sean Griffin inside of the smoking building, armed with a knife.

Griffin reportedly attempted to flee, reportedly punching a firefighter.

According to NBC12, he was captured by police, who charged him with arson and assault.
