Firefighters spent 12 hours trying to put out a fire that injured 32 people, including 23 firefighters and five police officers.

According to CBS New York, the fire was helped by 20 to 30 mile per hour wind gusts.

Most people living in the complex were able to get out safely.

Fire officials say there’s nothing that can be salvaged due to fire and water damage. That leaves 30 families without a home.
