A fire broke out on a San Antonio highway Wednesday, clogging traffic as fire crews scrambled to put it out.
The blaze was caused by an 18-wheeler that slammed into a series of light poles. A bystander pulled the driver out of the vehicle before it caught fire.
According to News4SanAntonio, fire crews tackled the wreck and police were amazed that the driver managed to escape with his life.
“It’s amazing that no one was injured or killed,” said San Antonio police spokesman Doug Greene. “It was a huge fire and a violent accident. It’s amazing that the driver was able to walk away.”
The highway was shut down for some time.
