14 NYPD officers injured in Bronx blaze that tore through apartment building

Over a dozen police officers in the Bronx were injured after responding to an apartment fire last night, attempting to evacuate residents before they were caught in the blaze.

The FDNY received the call for a multi-level apartment building, located in the wakefield neighbourhood.

According to NY1.com, the fourteen officers reported injured were all treated for smoke inhalation, and all injuries are reported to be minor.

Fire officials are investigating the cause of the fire.
