One Woman Dies In Colorado Springs Fire
December 2, 2013

Colorado - The Colorado Springs Fire Department says one woman died after a mobile home fire early Saturday morning. The fire department responded to a call at a home in the Quail Hill Mobile Home Park on 5100 block of Galley Road about 1 a.m. Saturday morning.

Twenty-nine firefighters were on scene and found heavy smoke and fire inside the home.

Crews were able to rescue the resident from the home, but she had significant burn injuries and was unconscious.

She was taken to a local hospital where she died.

The fire has been rule accidental by investigators, caused by the resident smoking while on home oxygen. The El Paso County Coroner's Office will release an official cause of death at a later date.

This is the first fire-related fatality in Colorado Springs in 2013, according to the fire department.
