Firefighters Battle Blaze At Depew Boys And Girls Club

New York - Several fire departments were dispatched around 9:45 a.m. today to the scene of an intense fire at the Depew Boys and Girls Club. Heavy fire and smoke were reported on the second floor of the three-story building at 60 Preston St. Members of the Depew, Lancaster, Forks and Twin District fire departments and Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance Corps were called to the scene. At least one firefighter was injured and transported by ambulance to a local hospital. The club was closed today for the new year's holiday and no one was in the building at the time of the fire.

The fire was under control around 11:15 a.m.

A damage estimate and cause were unavailable.
