Police in California are searching for a man who was caught on camera setting an SUV alight.

The Stockton Police secured the footage, which shows a man pouring accelerant on a vehicle before lighting it on fire.

The incident took place on March 3, and has residents in shock.

“We don’t usually have problems like that in this neighborhood,” neighbor Kim Kearney said.

Police are currently trying to put the clues together in order to apprehend the mystery suspect.

“We definitely need to figure out who this man is and ask him why he did what he did and put him in jail where he belongs,” Stockton Police Officer Joe Silva told FOX40.

Keaney claims the homeowner has been victimized multiple times.

“He’s had the tires slashed on both of them, multiple time,” she said. “The other car he used to also drive, someone threw a Molotov cocktail, I was told, into the driver’s side and it completely burned it up.”

The police department asks that anyone with information call (209) 937-8377.
