Fire Destroys Lost Barrio Warehouse
A two-alarm fire destroyed a wood working shop in the Lost Barrio Monday morning. Crews from Tucson fire arrived at the shop on South Park Avenue near East Broadway about 5:30 a.m. and found the building fully engulfed in flames, said Capt. Barrett Baker, a spokesman for the department.
The 45 firefighters at the scene were able to keep the blaze from spreading into other warehouses as well as Project MORE High School, 440 S. Park Ave., which is located just south of the burning business. Classes for Project More students were moved to Howenstine High Magnet School, 555 S. Tucson Blvd.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. No damage estimate was immediately available.
