Potomac Valley Fire Company Hosts House Burn
Southern County crews in Washington County spent their day on a house fire on Trego Mountain Road. This was not the normal house fire. Crews met up to day to train together. Potomac Valley Fire crews arranged the days of training for several South County companies. Along with Potomac Valley, personnel from Boonsboro / Rohrersville Co.8, Sharpsburg Fire and EMS Co1. & 19, Fairplay Co.12, and the Washington County Air Unit participated in the training. Over two-dozen firefighters were at the burn site. This gave Deputy Chief 11 plenty of personnel to make up 8 teams.
Crews were able to conduct over a half dozen burns before letting the house burn to the ground. Some probationary members got their first taste of interior attack and hands on training of fire behavior during these burns. Crews were able to train three and a half hours before letting the house go.
