Vancouver McDonald's Burns After Car Catches Fire In Drive Thru
United States (Oregon) - Firefighters are still at the scene of a Vancouver McDonald's that suffered extensive damage after a car caught fire in the drive-thru lane. Vancouver Fire Department spokesman Jim Flaherty said the car fire was first reported shortly after 11 a.m. at the McDonald's located at 2110 E. 4th Plain Blvd. As firefighters responded to the scene, Flaherty said, the fire moved to the building.

About 12 employees and a "number of patrons" had already been evacuated from the building when firefighters arrived, Flaherty said, including the elderly woman who was driving the car.

The fire spread quickly throughout the building and was difficult to fight, Flaherty said. It was put at about noon, although firefighters remain on the scene to handle hot spots.

Two employees were taken to the hospital for minor smoke inhalation, but just for observation, Flaherty said.
