PdC Building Destroyed In Early Morning Fire
United States (Wisconsin) -
A downtown Prairie du Chien building was destroyed in a fire early today. Fire crews found the metal building on the 200 block of Blackhawk Avenue engulfed in fire and smoke about 12:10 a.m., Prairie du Chien Fire Chief Harry Remz said. Flames shot more than 60 feet high, he said. 
The building, a former auto dealership being used for storage of vehicles, auto parts and art sculptures, was destroyed and will be demolished, Remz said. The cause and origin is under investigation.
Neighboring buildings had minor damage.
Fire crews remained on the scene for four hours.
