International Firefighter Challenge Coming To Myrtle Beach

The Scott Firefighter Combat Challenge has confirmed Myrtle Beach as the site of the group's 2010 worldwide competition in November, according to a representative of the event planner. The event will be in Myrtle Beach and a news conference is planned Thursday to announce the event, said Michael Degrandpre, an intern with event management company OnTarget Communications. 
Broadway at the Beach will host the challenge, which is expected to draw more than 5,000 attendees and spectators, according to a news release from Burroughs & Chapin Co. Inc. The event will be Nov. 8 through 14, according to the challenge's Web site.
The competition has been in Las Vegas for most of the 19 years it has happened.
