United States (California) - On March 10th, County Los Angeles County Firefighters rescued two children and assisted their parents out of their smoke filled apartment as flames destroyed an adjacent apartment unit. Flames were shooting out of the involved units windows, impinging on arching power lines. The fire occurred at Santa Fe and Santa Ana Streets in Walnut Park, California. The two children were rescued via ground ladders from the second floor by L.A. County Firefighters. The main bulk of fire was knocked down in approximately fifteen minutes. The two adults and two children suffered minor smoke inhalation and were treated on scene by Care Ambulance. Some of the Los Angeles County units on scene included Battalion 13, Battalion 20, Engine 16, Engine 9, 164's and Truck 147. There were no other reported injuries, the cause of the 1 AM fire is under investigation.
