Fire Destroys Area Trucking Building
United States (West Virginia) - Firefighters from Reedsville, Masontown, Kingwood and Cool Springs volunteer fire companies battled a fire on Kingwood Pike for much of Sunday afternoon. The blaze destroyed the building that housed Murray Trucking in Reedsville. The exact cause of the fire has not been determined, but it may have been a woodburner.

Fire hydrants near the university farm were frozen, forcing firefighters to fill tanker trucks at hydrants up to half a mile away -- at Emerald Estates on Kingwood Pike, and near BB&T, on W.Va. 7.

Firefighters were on scene from about 12:30-6:30 p.m. The fire rekindled just after 8 p.m. but firefighters quickly put it back out. The building was a total loss.

Damages were estimated at about $200,000, according to Reedsville Fire Chief Scott Spiker. There were tools and equipment inside the building, but no trucks.
