Fire Destroys CTV Newsroom In Canada
Canada (Ontario) - Canada's CTV television network said a fire at its newsroom in Ottawa caused at least $2.5 million worth of damage Sunday. CTV Ottawa anchor Max Keeping said archival videotape dating back 37 years was destroyed in the blaze, which was eventually brought under control thanks to the efforts of 70 firefighters and 18 fire trucks, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. reported.

"We're very fortunate that nobody got hurt but we've lost a great deal," Keeping said

Keeping said despite the destructive fire, CTV Ottawa is still prepared to offer broadcasting through the use of an alternative location.

"We're already ready to continue our broadcast today and we'll be on the air later this afternoon," Keeping told the CBC.

The cause of the fire, which resulted in no reported injuries, remains unknown.
