A Former Franciscan Church Destroyed In A Major Blaze In Montreal
Canada (Quebec) - A Montreal church was almost completely destroyed in a major fire that started early today. About 150 firefighters battled the flames that broke out around 5 a.m. in a former Franciscan church near the city's downtown.

Squatters were believed to be using the building, which was undergoing renovations.

No injuries were reported.

Only the walls of the 116-year-old church now remain. Two neighbouring buildings were also damaged.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
