Two Former Troutville Rescue Squad Leaders Indicted On Embezzlement Charges

The Troutville Rescue Squad's former president and former treasurer face charges of stealing tens of thousands of dollars from the organization, according to the office of the Botetourt County Commonwealth's Attorney. According to prosecutors, Stacy Tanaka and Elizabeth Falls each embezzled money from the rescue squad, though neither knew of the other's actions. Tanaka was once president of the squad, and Falls was treasurer.
A grand jury indicted both Monday.
