United States (Pennsylvania) - A firefighter was injured and two homes were severely damaged in a smoky blaze that broke out in two row homes at the corner of N. Penn and Greenleaf streets in Allentown around 8:30 this morning. As of 10 a.m., Allentown firefighters finally began to get the fire under control at 901 and 903 N. Penn St.

Heavy smoke filled the neighborhood as firefighters try to contain the fire.

At least 10 firefighters were seen on the roof attempting to ventilate the homes. At least 40 firefighters responded to the three-alarm fire.

Fire officials said no one in the two houses was injured in the fire, but one firefighter injured an ankle. The fire department expected to remain on scene until tonight.
