LA County Firefighters Battle Flower Shop Blaze

Los Angeles County Fire Department 164's, 165's first on scene on the 7500 block of South Pacific Boulevard in Walnut Park/Huntington Park reported light smoke showing between two commercial structures. Firefighters ventilating on top of the flower shop were ordered off the roof when fire started showing, exposing a two-story commercial to the south.
Firefighters on the roof were also experiencing arching power lines. Firefighters went to work laddering exposures as Firefighters inside knocked down the flames with handlines. L.A. County Firefighters had the main bulk of fire under control in 40 minutes. There were no reported injuries; damage was mainly confined to the rear of flower shop. The cause of the late night fire is under investigation.
