Firefighters were dispatched to the house at 10:36 a.m., French said. When firefighters arrived on scene there was heavy fire and smoke showing from the rear of the house, but all occupants were already out of the house.
Firefighters made an aggressive interior attack and encountered intense heat, he said. One firefighter suffered first- and second-degree burns on his neck and was transported to Hillcrest Burn Center to be treated. Damage caused by the fire was estimated at $45,000.
