United States (Missouri) - Around 11:30 a.m. on June 26th, 2009, St. Louis Firefighters were alerted of a fire in an occupied dwelling at 3516 Missouri Ave. When firefighters arrived, they were confronted with heavy fire and smoke conditions. As they made entry and knocked down the fire, other crews began a search and found one female victim suffering from smoke inhalation and burns to the hip.

Fire fighters removed the victim and continued CPR until EMS arrived. She later died at a local hospital. No name has been released and the cause of the fire is believed to be faulty wiring. Pumper 4 was also set up as a cooling station for the firefighters and the Red Cross assisted with rehab and resident displacement.
