United States (Delaware) - On Friday April 24 at 03:49 hours Station 85 (Milton), Station 77 (Georgetown), Station 75 (Ellendale), and Medic 108 were dispatched to a structure fire on Harbeson Road in the area of the Mariner Middle School. Engine 85-4 responded at 03:54 hours and arrived on scene at 03:56 hours with heavy fire showing from one house with extension into a second house. 85 Command requested additional apparatus and manpower from Station 82 (Lewes), Station 80 (Indian River), and Station 89 (Memorial Fire Company of Slaughter Beach). Engine 85-4 deployed two attack lines, Ladder 85 deployed two attack lines, Engine 85-5 deployed two attack lines , Engine 77-4 deployed attack lines, Engine 85-3 deployed one attack line. Command placed situation under control at 05:39 hours.

At approximately 06:00 hours command placed many units available when ready leaving only a few Milton units and Engine 89-2 on scene. At approximately 06:25 hours the Delaware State Fire Marshals on scene noticed smoke coming out of a vent in separate structure in the same development. Engine 89-2 deployed one attack line through the front door and Engine 85-5 deployed one attack line for the crawl space. Command requested that Engine 42-5 (Carlisle Fire Company of Milford) standing by at our station respond to the scene and assist. The fire was contained to the interior of the structure. Units cleared the scene at 07:39 with the State Fire Marshal remaining. The Delaware State Fire Marshals have estimated the damages to be $600,000 to the three structures.
