United States (North Carolina) - On January 30, 2014 shortly before 4:00 p.m. the West Mount Fire Department was dispatched to a possible structure fire at 4067 South Old Carriage Road. Fire Marshal Unit C-107 was first to arrive on scene and found an outbuilding fully involved. He reported a working fire. West Mount Engine 41 arrived on scene and pulled two handlines and placed them in service for a defensive operation. Firefighters were able to keep the flames off of the exposure house, but the outbuilding was destroyed. Fire crews from West Mount, Coopers, and Nashville made a quick knock down. The fire was placed under control within 20 minutes. There were no injuries on the fire ground. The blaze could be seen from as far away as Battleboro. The origin of the fire is pending and under investigation by the county Fire Marshal.
