"Chief John Allison was a dedicated professional who loved what he did and those with whom he worked and protected," Snyder said. "His family, friends, colleagues and the community he served are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time."
Allison also served as assistant chief of the Mason County Rural Fire Authority Chief's Association. He was a lifelong farmer, working with his father and family, and a member of the Scottville United Methodist Church.
Flags should be returned to full-staff after Allison's funeral service.
When flown at half-staff or half-mast, the U. S. flag should be hoisted first to the peak for an instant and then lowered to the half-staff or half-mast position. The flag should again be raised to the peak before it is lowered for the day.
This flag order is in accordance with Executive Order 2006-10.
