Burning Money In Detroit
A fire broke out in the Chase Bank building in downtown Detroit this morning. "It's under control" Detroit Fire Department Senior Chief Larry Gassel said just before 7 a.m. “It's not as bad as everyone” thought.
The blaze started just after 6 a.m. on the eight floor of the multistory office tower on Woodward at Congress. More than 40 firefighters were called to the scene. Originally designated a second-alarm fire to call in extra crews, the blaze was downgraded to a single-alarm fire just before 7 a.m., Gassel said.
No information was immediately available on whether the floor was occupied at the time of the fire, how it started or if there have been any injuries.
