Construction Worker Hurt When Beam Collapses
A worker was injured when a beam at a construction site collapsed Wednesday morning, officials said. The incident happened shortly after 8:30 a.m. at a residential construction site at 109 South Gordon Road. Firefighters arrived to find collapse debris and one construction worker who had fallen approximately 25 feet, said Division Chief Rober Bacic, spokesman for the Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue.
The beam appears to stretch across the second floor of the home under construction.
The worker, who was not identified, was taken to Broward Health. His condition was not disclosed.
