St. Louis Apartment Fire Injures Firefighter
A firefighter injured his shoulder while battling a blaze in the kitchen of an apartment Sunday morning, authorities said. He was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to St. Louis Fire Department spokesman Capt. Dan Sutter. It's not clear exactly how he was injured.
Firefighters were called to the apartment building in the 3500 block of Franklin Avenue about 10:40 a.m. No one was home at the third-floor unit, Sutter said, but the stove was on fire.
The firefighter was injured while putting out the blaze. The apartment had moderate damage. Sutter said the tenant should be able to return to the unit.
Another firefighter was hurt at a different fire later Sunday.
