Nashville Fire Department Engine 141 arrived on the scene minutes after the dispatch and reported they had a large metal tobacco barn with heavy smoke and fire showing. They began the attack with 1 3/4 hand lines. There were 96 other tobacco sheds located in the large storage area. Firefighters had the main blaze under control in about 30 minutes . This was a very labor intensive process as it was done by hand. With the high temperatures and humidity it was necessary to rotate crews on a regulars basis to keep them hydrated.
