Firefighters rescued a woman from a burning house Monday on Milwaukee's west side. The Milwaukee Fire Department responded to a call at the corner of N. 40th St. and W. Auer Ave. at 4:09 a.m. and found a house fire that had spread from the second floor to the first floor of the house. They found a woman in a bedroom of the first floor of the house who was handicapped and could not escape by herself, according to the fire department.
The woman didn't want medical treatment, according to the fire department. The house had $50,000 in damage.
