Firefighters forced their way into the garage and quickly extinguished a small blaze. The electrical meter had been bypassed, which likely caused the fire, Williams said.
Once inside the home, firefighters discovered multiple marijuana plants. The house had been reinforced with plywood over the doors and windows.
There were no injuries associated with the
fire.
The San Jose Police Department responded to the home and seized between 300 and 400 plants and an elaborate grow system, according to Officer Albert Morales, a police spokesman. Morales described the operation as an "illegal grow house" and said there are no suspects at this time.
